Working with the hospital’s Senior Medical Quality Director, Director of Medical Staff Administration and Medical Staff officers, I have designed, deployed and administered the hospital’s Medical Staff Gateway (MSG) to provide timely news and information in an online format for the 16 medical departments. In addition, the MSG serves as the hospital’s first delivery system for online Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses and is the gateway for Providers to access live streaming broadcasts of in-house CME courses via WebEx and Panopto. The Gateway serves the physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, as well as their ancillary staff.
In addition to leading the Medical Staff Gateway project, I have also redesigned the College of Nursing Portal, the College’s learning management system (LMS) site. Upon arriving at Crouse, the original Portal site was identified in need of an upgrade. However, after analyzing the system and discovering it being a virtualized XAMPP installation of Moodle original deployed as a pilot project, I determined it would best serve the College to build a new system that included a production installation of Moodle. Since the installation and deployment of the new system, user satisfaction among students and faculty is much higher and has allowed the College to utilize the LMS to its fullest potential, including utilizing centralized authentication for login credentials, delivering online quizzes, providing online versions of student orientation and access via mobile devices.
