In April 2014, I was invited to present at the Ireland / United Kingdom Moodlemoot.ie Conference held in Edinburgh, Scotland. Over 300 people from 20 countries attended the conference. I presented the buildout and deployment of the Crouse Hospital Medical Staff Gateway (MSG), which I designed, built and customized to provide communications and online Continuing Medical Education courses for Crouse’s physicians, NPs, PAs and their staff. While at the conference, I had the opportunity to meet many of the experts and code contributors to the Moodle learning management system, including Moodle’s founder Martin Dougiamas.
Another one of my proudest achievements in my career was winning the 2008 Sun Microsystems / OpenOffice.org Community Innovation Program Award, and being recognized by my colleagues and by Dr. Debbie Sydow, Onondaga Community College President. Since the release of my instructional guide, it has been adopted by a number of academic institutions and school districts throughout the world, including the University of California-San Diego, Western Oklahoma State College, Sydenham High School in Ontario, Canada and the INGOTs certification program in Great Britain.
